Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms. You will guide architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver highly available, secure, scalable applications serving millions of customers.

You will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering teams to build solutions improving healthcare experiences for members, providers, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in a large-scale distributed environment.
• 7+ years of hands-on Java application development with modern Java ecosystem frameworks.
• 5+ years of Java, Spring Boot development experience.
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD Pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of experience in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability to meet objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align on technical decisions.
• Adopt best practices and new technologies to boost productivity and code quality.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops to foster collaboration.
• Work with developers to implement features and improve existing functionality.
• Mentor junior developers to grow technical skills and careers.
