CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and deliver scalable, secure applications for millions of customers.

The role requires strong leadership in Java-based distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, API development, and modern software practices, collaborating across Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software development in large-scale distributed environments.
7+ years of Java application development with modern Java ecosystems.
5+ years in Java/Spring Boot development.
5+ years with enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud technologies.
5+ years designing microservices and APIs.
3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
3+ years of Agile-based development.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable enterprise solutions meeting requirements and quality standards.
Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with engineers and architects.
Provide input on performance, feasibility, and scalability of solutions.
Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
Coordinate with team members to align decisions and share technical insights.
Adopt best practices and new technologies to boost productivity and code quality.
Mentor junior developers and foster learning across the team.
Collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality features.
