Job summary

Harvey, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Core Infrastructure team in New York City. You will design and build scalable infrastructure powering a global AI platform, balancing innovation with operational excellence to ensure reliability and security as we scale usage and regions.

You will own multi-cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP, AWS) and drive IaC and observability efforts while mentoring engineers and shaping the technical direction of the platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Infrastructure or Platform Engineering in production
• Experience building and scaling large distributed systems
• Strong IaC using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP ok)
• Kubernetes, networking, security at scale
• Observability tools (Datadog, Sentry) and incident response (PagerDuty)
• Programming skills in Python or Go
• Operational excellence mindset and proactive problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure across multiple cloud regions
• Own and evolve multi-cloud infra (Azure, GCP, AWS) and Kubernetes orchestration
• Lead observability, incident response, and operational excellence initiatives
• Architect distributed systems for reliability, including load balancing and failover
• Collaborate with Product Engineering and Security to accelerate delivery
• Drive infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Pulumi for reproducible deployments
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through reviews and leadership
