Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Senior Manager for Hardware Reliability Engineering to lead reliability programs across a hardware product area such as LiDAR. You will oversee the lifecycle from development to production ramp and field deployment, guiding risk analyses and test strategies.

You will work with contract manufacturers and suppliers worldwide to ensure reliability standards, develop roadmaps, and mentor teams while coordinating with engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or Physics.
• 10 years of experience managing reliability programs for complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience delivering reliability for 1–2 product generations from prototyping to field deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the reliability program for a Waymo hardware product area across its lifecycle.
• Define and improve reliability processes including DFMEA, FTA, design verification, and failure analysis.
• Collaborate with US-based and international CMs, ODMs and Tier-1s to develop reliability test programs.
