Job summary

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. in Mountain View, CA, seeks a Staff Hardware Electrical Engineer to own PCB design and validation for autonomous vehicles. You will work across software, electrical, and integration teams to build safe, reliable systems.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hardware development experience in automotive/aerospace or related industry.
  • Experience with PCBAs, High Speed PCB Design, Harnesses, Power Distribution Units, and Power Supplies.
  • Deep understanding of failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of mixed analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with on-vehicle debugging of I2C, CAN, SPI, and Ethernet.
  • Experience with PCIe and DDR high-speed
  • Hands-on, shop-floor and keyboard-driven work style.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Passion for autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate custom PCBA electronics for autonomous vehicle operation.
  • Schematic and layout design of medium to high complexity analog/digital PCBs.
  • Ensure risks are mitigated and designs are well documented.
  • Hands-on debug and bring-up of PCBs within a complex system.
  • Own full lifecycle of PCB design, including reviews, simulation, test, and release.
  • Suggest improvements in test methodologies and procedures.
  • Lead DFMEA analysis of electrical systems and cross-functional design trade-offs.
  • Lead root cause analysis and issue resolution in electrical systems.
  • Define stress test routines to validate functional sections.
  • Validate thermal and power performance of circuits.
  • Develop and implement ISO 26262 methodologies to meet ASIL goals.
  • Interface with Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and external suppliers.
