Job summary

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer to ensure our autonomous fleet remains reliable, maintainable, and field-ready.

You will diagnose hardware and system issues, assist technicians, and create auditable documentation while collaborating with ME, EE, Manufacturing, and Vehicle Operations. You will lead improvements, manage repairs and upgrades, influence design-for-manufacturability, and drive robust verification plans across the fleet.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background and 6+ years in autonomous vehicle, automotive, or related industry.
  • Proven systems analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex systems.
  • Hands-on with tools and hardware, comfortable with a wrench and a keyboard, familiar with automotive electronics and protocols like Ethernet and CAN.
  • Experience with scripting and data analysis languages such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Understanding of Linux-based systems and computer networking.
  • Ability to navigate electrical and mechanical CAD software.
  • Demonstrated leadership on projects, owning and driving teams to deliver results.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for documentation and design reviews.
  • Experience leading testing through development, analysis, corrective actions, and final reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own continuous improvement of a customer-facing product and drive key technical initiatives.
  • Coordinate and execute complex repairs and upgrades with cross-functional teams (ME, EE, Manufacturing, Vehicle Operations).
  • Own Design-for-Manufacturing and Serviceability feedback loop to influence product architecture.
  • Oversee hardware quality inspections and resolve manufacturing/build issues for fleet reliability.
  • Lead hardware team in developing vehicle/subsystem BOMs, documentation, and verification plans.
