Job summary

Zoox is seeking an experienced software leader to drive the Geofencer stack, encompassing a React/TypeScript map-rich UI and Python services backed by PostgreSQL/PostGIS. You will own versioned geofence workflows, road-network annotation, and the Plan of Record for publishing fleet constraints.

The role requires strong fullstack proficiency, cloud and container experience, and a track record of technical leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, or related field.
10+ years of industry experience building and operating production fullstack systems on large code bases.
Strong proficiency in Python backend services and React with TypeScript/JavaScript for data-heavy UIs.
Experience with Linux, cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar), containers, and CI/CD.
Demonstrated technical leadership including multi-quarter projects and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of Geofencer across the stack (React/TypeScript SPA with interactive maps and Python backends).
Own core geospatial data workflows and release processes for fleet operations.
Integrate with Zoox ecosystem components and ML-assisted annotation workflows.
Operate production infrastructure with Bazel, Docker/Kubernetes, and observability tooling; automate data migrations and tasks.
Drive cross-functional alignment and mentor engineers on the team.
