Job summary

Terracon in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Geologist/Hydrogeologist to evaluate subsurface data, interpret soil and groundwater conditions, and develop site conclusions. You will create subsurface maps and collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists on varied projects.

You will oversee field testing, assist senior staff on complex projects, prepare written proposals, and contribute to reports for site assessments, remediation, and foundation design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology and at least 3 years of related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Conduct site testing and provide design recommendations on small projects.
• Assist senior geologists on larger projects.
• Perform site visits and data collection.
• Prepare written proposals and client communications.
• Evaluate laboratory and field data and compile reports.
• Oversee work by junior geologists.
