Job summary

Terracon seeks an experienced Geologist/Hydrogeologist to lead site investigations in North Carolina. You will interpret subsurface soil, bedrock and groundwater data, develop maps and cross-sections, and collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists on Phase I/II assessments and remediation activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology with 7+ years of related experience; a Master’s/PhD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ related experience is required.
• Certification in geology-related field is required.
• Ability to obtain Professional Geologist (PG) registration is preferred/required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Lead planning, scheduling, and coordination of detailed phases of work on projects of moderate scope.
• Supervise field staff to sample, test and collect data and document site activities.
• Develop written proposals and review proposals for accuracy and quality.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field

Master’s degree or PhD preferred

Certification in geology-related field
