Job summary

General Motors seeks a seasoned staff full-stack engineer to lead the simulation platform for autonomous- driving validation. You will shape the architectural roadmap for the Simulation Scenario Definition platform and its TS/Python SDK, and mentor engineers on API design and testing.

You will drive scalable tooling and Python infrastructure, building graphical editors with TS/React, WebGL/Three.js, and MapboxGL, while collaborating with our cloud compute platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on large-scale platforms, tooling, or SDK development.
• Proven ability to lead technical architecture and drive multi-quarter projects to production.
• Strong front-end experience for graphical applications using TypeScript with frameworks like React or Vue and graphical libraries like WebGL/Three.js or MapboxGL.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, including API/SDK development and performance optimization.
• Track record of mentoring mid-level and senior engineers to raise technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Define the architectural roadmap for the Simulation Scenario Definition platform and its TS/Python SDK.
• Lead design and implementation of next-generation graphical editing tools used by hundreds of engineers.
• Drive evolution of Python infrastructure focusing on core algorithms for serialization, validation, and cloud integration.
• Mentor team on API design, code quality, and testing practices.
