Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Technical Lead for Autonomous Driving Evaluation Infrastructure. You will architect and optimize testing workflows, data pipelines, and simulation infra to validate AV/ADAS stacks at scale. You’ll guide a team of engineers and promote best practices across GM’s software ecosystem.

You will shape technical strategy, collaborate with data engineers and developers, and drive tooling that accelerates safe, robust vehicle software development and release cycles.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated track record building high-quality software with customer focus and operational excellence.
• Broad exposure to end-to-end product engineering stack from frontend to infrastructure.
• Experience with SOA or microservice architectures, large-scale distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Strong organizational and communication skills; self-motivated with leadership mindset.
• Familiarity with Python, Go, Node, React or similar web technologies.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and data warehouses like BigQuery or Redshift.
• Passion for self-driving technology and its impact.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical architect; define and align technical vision with company objectives.
• Design and implement systems to simulate millions of driving miles daily and predict performance.
• Improve reliability via CI, automated tests, and code reviews.
• Drive engineering best practices and develop cross-team productivity tools.
• Mentor and grow engineers; foster GM engineering culture and principles.
• Lead delivery in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.
