Job summary

Partner Company is seeking a highly hands-on Staff Engineer to tackle complex problems in a rapidly scaling energy technology environment. You will join a small, high-impact squad rebuilding systems for origination, contracting, onboarding, and growth.

As a senior engineer, you will own architecture across integration-heavy stacks, automate workflows to reduce risk, and design gating and risk tooling for new commercial categories.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering expertise with Python and AWS serverless technologies including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience in startups or fast-paced product environments, with ownership from inception to delivery.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Make architecture-level decisions across integration-heavy systems, defining boundaries, contracts, and failure modes.
• Automate and productise tendering, pricing, contracting, and onboarding workflows to reduce operational risk.
• Design deal-gating and risk-management tooling to safely support new commercial categories.

Technical Requirements:

• Deep backend engineering expertise with Python and AWS serverless technologies including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience in startups or fast-paced product environments, with ownership from inception to delivery.
• Fully remote and flexible working with clear core hours and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.
