Job summary

Mattermost is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to drive architecture across our Go backend and React/TypeScript frontend, partnering across teams to ship features that meet strict security, compliance, and reliability requirements.

Our engineering culture is AI-forward. We will expect you to work with AI coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor day-to-day, and treat that as core craft, not a shortcut. If you ship end-to-end software and lead technically, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Senior full-stack engineer with Go and React/TypeScript experience.
• Experience designing distributed systems at scale and high-availability services.
• Proficient with REST and WebSocket APIs and networking basics.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development and tooling.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture and roadmap for core web platform across Go/React/TypeScript.
• Set standards for AI-agentic engineering workflows with security and design accountability.
• Lead internal tooling and testing infrastructure strategy to speed delivery.
• Own testing strategy and quality across frontend and backend with reviews and mentorship.
• Drive REST and WebSocket API design with strong networking fundamentals.
• Collaborate with security/compliance and product leadership on strategic bets.
• Mentor senior engineers and act as a technical multiplier.
• Contribute to open-source direction for Mattermost.
