Job summary

Matter is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to build the Matter consumer app, including the AI nutrition coach, tracking and personalization features, and the ordering experience that connects users to our restaurants. You will ship across the app and backend services, using AI daily to write, review, test, and deploy code.

This role requires deep TypeScript skills across React Native and Node backends, plus experience with AI-powered features in production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack work.
• Deeply AI-forward: uses AI coding tools and agents daily, with proven impact.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered features to production, including prompting, evals, latency, and cost.
• Passion for health, wellness, and fitness with hands-on macro-tracking app experience.

Responsibilities

• Build the Consumer App: ship features end-to-end in React Native and backend services.
• AI & Personalization: develop LLM-powered features, prompts, evals, and guardrails.
• Engineering Velocity & Quality: improve CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and observability; write clean code and perform reviews.
• Own production systems: debugging, incident response, and performance.
