Job summary

Mailchimp is seeking a senior frontend engineer to design abstractions, write documentation, and champion best practices within the Experience Platform team. You will partner with Design System and Engineering to improve build systems, performance, and quality across a large-scale web application.

You will drive architectural decisions, lead large-scale frontend infrastructure, and mentor engineers while maintaining a focus on reliability, accessibility, and scalable web interfaces across teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in large-scale frontend development and building shared frameworks.
• Expert in modern frontend technologies like React; comfortable with legacy Dojo.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, data-driven problem solving and debugging of complex web apps.
• Fluent in agent-driven development and orchestration of AI agents.
• Thoughtful communicator in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain shared frontend libraries, build pipelines, and asset deployment.
• Improve frontend engineering experience with patterns, testing strategies, and tooling.
• Architect projects with micro frontend patterns emphasizing performance and accessibility.
• Design systems for observability and autonomous navigation of codebases.
• Establish coding and agent best practices to reduce low-quality output.
• Guide engineers to break work into reliable, execut able pieces.
• Mentor and train engineers across distributed teams.
• Collaborate across departments to solve major operational needs.
• Stay current with infrastructure tools and patterns.
