Job summary

Mailchimp's Experience Platform team is seeking a senior frontend architect to design scalable frontend infrastructure and maintain shared libraries across the app. You will lead build systems, performance improvements, and accessibility initiatives while guiding engineers through complex transitions.

You will collaborate with Design System and Engineering teams to improve deployment pipelines and code quality, mentoring others and driving reliable, scalable frontend solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in large-scale development environments and building frontend frameworks.
• Expertise in modern frontend technologies like React and comfort with legacy tools.
• Significant coding experience in Node, Python, PHP, Go, or similar languages.
• Fluent in agent-driven development and evaluating agent output critically.
• Thoughtful communicator, especially in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain shared frontend libraries used across the app, including packaging, versioning, and deployment.
• Improve frontend engineering experience by establishing patterns, testing strategies, and tooling.
• Architect and implement projects aligned with performance and accessibility standards, guiding multi-team efforts.
• Design systems for observability and modular code navigation for autonomous modification.
• Guide best practices to reduce low-quality agent output through governance and guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and provide feedback on code and architecture across a distributed team.
• Collaborate with departments to align development with strategic initiatives.
