Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Staff Engineer – FPGA Design/Verification to lead the development of custom logic for avionics hardware in Idaho. You will drive requirements, architecture, design, verification, and certification across FPGA, ASIC, and CPLD solutions.

The role emphasizes strong FPGA expertise, technical leadership, and the ability to manage multiple programs in a regulated aerospace environment while mentoring less-experienced engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 8 years of professional design experience in FPGA/ASIC/CPLD.
• Experience with VHDL-based design and simulation.
• Ability to develop technical plans, manage multiple priorities, and deliver on schedule and cost objectives.
• U.S. citizen due to export-control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead full FPGA/ASIC/CPLD design lifecycle from requirements to release.
• Design and verify FPGA, ASIC, and CPLD solutions for avionics hardware.
• Develop DO-254 certification artifacts and traceability in DOORS.
• Create verification environments and VHDL test benches.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Define architectures and project plans with schedule and cost objectives.
• Support bids, proposals, and program decisions.
