Job summary

Universal Avionics in Duluth, GA, seeks a Senior FPGA / Logic Design Engineer to design, verify, and integrate FPGA/firmware for safety-critical avionics systems.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and certification teams, perform DO‑254 compliant development, and contribute to next‑generation cockpit technologies with real‑world impact. This onsite role offers relocation assistance and a strong engineering culture.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of FPGA / digital logic design experience.
  • Strong VHDL and/or Verilog experience.
  • Experience with FPGA simulation, debugging, and verification tools.
  • Strong understanding of digital design and FPGA architecture.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system‑level issues.
  • Aerospace, avionics, defense, or safety‑critical experience highly preferred.
  • DO‑254 experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and debug FPGA/firmware solutions for advanced avionics systems.
  • Develop PLD requirements, architectures, and detailed design data.
