Job summary

1Password is seeking a Staff Engineering Technical Writer to collaborate with product, engineering, and PMM teams. You will develop AI- and generative-search‑optimized content, tutorials, technical blogs, and other assets that help developers adopt 1Password’s tools.

You’ll report to the Director of Developer Relations, work with SMEs, and shape an education strategy that scales as AI changes software. This is a remote opportunity in the US and Canada, with a strong emphasis on clarity, reuse,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical content experience delivering documentation, tutorials, and technical marketing materials for DevOps tools, CLIs, or programming languages.
• Strong user perspective informed by product testing and usage.
• Data-driven with web metrics data to optimize documentation, evaluate content strategy, identify gaps, drive traffic and engagement.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product marketing, social teams, customer support, SMEs, Comms, and brand.
• Platform collaboration with teams building the content platform to improve performance, usability, searchability, and AI compatibility.
• Enablement of engineering and product teams to create strong documentation using training, tools, standards, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Architect content navigation structures and content sets that help users of all experience levels.
• Author content by testing workflows directly in context and describing steps to enable workflows.
• Engage with the community and internal stakeholders to improve content across 1Password’s channels.
• Optimize content and web for AI discoverability in collaboration with web platform owners.
• Enable people to create great content using templates, skills, toolkits, style guides, training, and feedback.
• Socialize content across marketing, customer success, social, and field teams to maximize reach.
