Job summary

Applied-Research-Associates, Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer to support design, development, integration, testing, qualification, and fielding of advanced underwater and undersea systems in Panama City, FL.

The role is on-site with hybrid opportunities and requires travel to Newport, RI up to 15%. You will work across requirements development, system architecture, engineering analysis, prototype development, integration, and system-level technical reviews with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, test, qualification, and fielding of complex underwater and undersea systems.
• Develop and manage system, subsystem, hardware, software, and interface requirements.
• Translate customer needs into measurable engineering requirements and system performance criteria.
• Perform system-level evaluations and trade studies on design alternatives, risks, and costs.
• Support design reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and other technical reviews.
• Develop prototypes, perform testing, and demonstrate system performance.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
• Support failure investigations and corrective actions.
• Identify risks and interface conflicts and develop system-level solutions.
• Prepare and communicate technical information during meetings and reviews.
