Job summary

Emerald AI is recruiting a senior software engineer to design real-time telemetry pipelines and integrate with datacenter power and compute systems. You will implement control logic that adjusts workloads based on grid and infrastructure conditions, bridging IT and OT environments to produce reliable, production-grade software.

As an early engineering hire, you’ll shape system architecture, own projects end-to-end, and collaborate across teams to translate real-world constraints into scalable

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with Python and/or Rust, Go or C/C++
• Hands-on experience building telemetry ingest pipelines or distributed systems for high-volume time-series data
• Familiarity with async messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Exposure to IT or OT systems (SCADA, EMS, BMS, DCIM) and data flow between them

Responsibilities

• Build software modules that interact with datacenters, on-site industrial power systems and the grid
• Architect data ingest pipelines for high-frequency telemetry from power meters, PDUs, UPS, cooling, and compute hardware
• Design fault-tolerant integration layers between IT systems and OT systems with protocol translation and data model mapping
• Ensure safety, reliability, and correctness when interacting with energy assets and critical facilities
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions from edge device to control plane
