Job summary

Emerald AI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to design and build next-generation software systems that enable AI infrastructure to operate intelligently under power constraints. You will work at the intersection of AI systems, distributed computing, cloud infrastructure, and energy-aware optimization, turning research prototypes into production deployments.

This highly technical role targets researchers who combine strong methodology with hands-on software engineering for production-quality

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent research-focused education.
• Strong background in ML systems, AI infrastructure, distributed systems, cloud computing, AI/HPC.
• Excellent software engineering skills with large systems in C++, Python, Go, or Rust.
• Experience building research prototypes or large-scale production code.
• Strong publication record or history of impactful innovations.
• Ability to drive research from idea to implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build novel power-aware AI infrastructure systems for large-scale cloud platforms.
• Develop production-quality software, research prototypes, and experimental infrastructure.
• Apply ML, optimization, systems, or control techniques to AI infrastructure challenges.
• Design, implement, and evaluate algorithms on large-scale experimental platforms and deployments.
• Collaborate with product and customer teams to transition research into products.
• Publish high-impact research at leading conferences when appropriate.
• Help shape Emerald AI's long-term technical roadmap and research directions.
