Job summary

Emerald AI is seeking an experienced software engineer to design real-time telemetry pipelines and integrate with datacenter power and compute systems. You will implement control and optimization logic that dynamically adjusts workloads based on grid and infrastructure conditions, bridging IT and OT environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Rust, Go or C/C++.
• Hands-on experience building telemetry ingest pipelines or distributed systems handling high-volume time-series data.
• Familiarity with async messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent.
• Exposure to IT or OT systems and data flow between them.

Responsibilities

• Build software modules that interact with datacenters and on-site power systems.
• Architect data ingest pipelines for high-frequency telemetry from meters, PDUs, UPS, cooling, and compute hardware.
• Design fault-tolerant integration layers between IT and OT systems and map data models.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and correctness with real-world energy assets and degraded network states.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions from edge device to control plane.
