Position Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, enterprise-level solutions for our Pricing organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering with a focus on Insurance / Finance related applications. This position involves hands-on technical leadership, innovation, and collaboration to align technology solutions with business goals.

Position Description

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product experts, and other technical leaders, to deliver end-to-end pricing solutions that will transform how GEICO develops and manages Pricing strategies. You will play a key role in the architecture, development, and deployment of cutting-edge solutions while ensuring best practices in software design, security, and performance. This role combines technical expertise with strong functional knowledge of Finance Systems.

Position Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Engineer for Pricing, you will:

• Lead the design and development of resilient and highly scalable solutions for the Pricing teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals and requirements.
• Ensure seamless integration of financial data from ERP systems, sub-ledgers and other enterprise sources to support the Pricing system requirements.
• Mentor other engineers and share best practices to improve processes within and across teams.
• Oversee system-wide technical initiatives, migrations, performance tuning, and process automation, and develop clear documentation of systems and processes.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in software development with a deep understanding of object-oriented design and expertise in Java or C#.
• 10+ years of experience working with ERP Systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Workday).
• 5+ years of Insurance systems experience is a plus.
• Experience building custom business applications across the full stack, from backend logic to user interfaces.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data integration frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of security protocols like Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth.
• Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Salary Range

$105,000.00 - $260,000.00

The salary range is a guideline; final compensation depends on various factors including experience, education, location, and market considerations.
