Job summary

Inductive Automation seeks a Staff Engineer to own and evolve product verticals on a Kotlin/JVM, event-oriented platform powering self-service business for customers and partners. You’ll shape technical direction, lead design, and contribute across the full delivery lifecycle with onsite, hybrid, or remote options.

Qualifications

• 12 years of general software engineering experience.
• Strong JVM knowledge with Java and Kotlin.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to lead design lifecycle and mentor engineers.
• Proficient with SQL and relational modeling.
• Familiar with agile methodologies (SCRUM).
• Experience with GitHub and source control workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture for one or more verticals and influence platform concerns.
• Own design lifecycle from requirements through deployment and operation.
• Develop and evolve domain and data models; define boundaries.
• Deliver high-impact projects and decompose into maintainable pieces.
• Mentor engineers in distributed-systems, CQRS and event-sourced patterns.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and across teams to reach durable decisions.
• Participate in hiring and engineering interviews as needed.
