Job summary

General Motors is seeking a technically opinionated Staff Engineer to join the Hybrid Services & Reliability team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will lead the reliability of the bench cloud, define SLOs/SLIs, and automate core on-prem utilities for seamless server provisioning.

As a key member, you will mentor peers, drive observability, and oversee data paths from test benches to development runtimes while coordinating with multi-cloud environments for safe autonomous vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive SRE experience with focus on hybrid cloud.
• Expertise in Linux systems administration and automating networking utilities (DHCP/PXE).
• Deep experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible) and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Define SLOs and SLIs for hybrid cloud services and establish readiness verification.
• Own and automate core on-prem utilities for server provisioning and fleet health.
• Build dashboards and alerts to reduce MTTR and maintain slot availability.
• Ensure data path integrity from test benches to development runtimes.
