Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer for connectivity platforms in Sunnyvale, CA or Warren, MI. You will own system architecture for connectivity modules, define scalable architectures, and drive cross‑functional execution from concept through production and field deployment.

You will work across hardware, firmware, RF and software teams, guide SoC selection, high‑speed interfaces, and validation strategies, mentoring engineers and shaping reusable hardware development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of hardware development with focus on architecture and integration.
• Deep expertise in SoC-based design including power architecture, clocks, resets, and boot flows.
• Strong experience with high-speed digital design and SI/PI considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define and own system architecture for connectivity platforms and guide implementation across teams.
• Oversee schematic design, PCB layout, and multi-domain integration for SI/PI and RF coexistence.
• Lead root-cause analysis and validation strategy across hardware, firmware, RF, and software.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional alignment with silicon vendors and platform teams.
