Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to support energy efficiency and demand-side management programs for commercial and industrial facilities in California. The role focuses on identifying strategies to reduce energy use and promote clean technologies, including whole-building audits and energy analyses.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in energy engineering or design engineering (HVAC or industrial processes).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
PE license preferred.
Proficiency with energy analysis tools and building modeling programs (eQUEST, EnergyPlus, TRACE 700).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional client-facing demeanor.

Responsibilities

Lead project teams from initiation through completion.
Conduct energy audits at commercial, industrial, and municipal facilities.
Develop project-specific M&V plans and perform energy/financial analyses.
Prepare clear technical reports and communicate timelines to clients.
Research codes, standards, and emerging technologies; support outreach.
