Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to support energy efficiency and demand-side management programs for commercial and industrial facilities. You will identify strategies to reduce energy use, conduct whole-building audits, perform energy analyses, and help manage multiple projects and clients.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in energy engineering or HVAC/design, a Bachelor’s in Engineering, and preferably a PE license.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of energy engineering or design engineering (HVAC or industrial processes).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• Proficiency with energy analysis tools and building modeling programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams from initiation through completion.
• Provide technical expertise to support program outreach and customer engagement.
• Research codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct energy audits at commercial, industrial, and municipal facilities.
• Perform site inspections to collect data and testing.
• Develop M&V plans to substantiate energy savings.
• Install and remove metering and data collection equipment.
• Use analytical tools to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
• Perform complex energy and financial analyses using appropriate software.
• Research and evaluate innovative approaches to energy efficiency, DR, resiliency, and renewable energy.
• Develop technical reports summarizing scope, methodology, results and recommendations.
• Communicate timelines and updates with senior management.
