The Performance team within Core Platform focuses on understanding, measuring, and enforcing system behavior under load. As a Staff Engineer in Architecture, your influence extends beyond your own code.

Qualifications

• Extensive PostgreSQL experience and performance tuning required.
• Experience diagnosing production performance using query plans.
• Ability to design benchmarking frameworks and baselines.
• Define performance contracts and SLAs for the database layer.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose production performance by interpreting query plans and analyzing usage patterns.
• Drive cluster topology changes and async I/O transformations to improve throughput.
• Build benchmarking and regression-detection infrastructure for DB performance.
• Define and own database latency targets and throughput SLAs.
