Job summary

Shipt is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Core Services team to define the future of our high-scale systems. You will own architecture, drive technical roadmaps, and act as a multiplier for engineering excellence across multiple teams in Minneapolis and beyond.

You will lead design and evolution of critical microservices, champion observability and reliability, and mentor Senior and Associate Engineers to raise the bar on quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• Agile methodology experience.
• Apache Kafka expertise.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) knowledge.
• Go programming language proficiency.
• Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own architecture for all applications developed by your team.
• Lead design and evolution of highly available microservices using Go, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka.
• Influence cross-functional teams to align on technical direction and solution design.
• Establish domain-wide operational standards including observability and on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and elevate engineering quality and best practices.
