Job summary

Target is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Enterprise Cart & Checkout team, building scalable, multi-tenant services that power Target.com and our 1900+ stores, shaping the guest experience end to end.

You will lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and operations planning while mentoring teammates. Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, microservices, and data quality practices is required, with a Hybrid/Flex work arrangement in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software development experience with Java or Kotlin
• Proficient in distributed programming and multiple frameworks
• Delivers high-performance, scalable, secure deliverables
• Designs testing methods and resolves technical issues
• Strong understanding of core development platforms
• Builds commitment within the team to prioritize goals
• Understand impact of own work on team/guests
• Stays current with evolving technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead code reviews, design reviews, testing and debugging at the application level
• Lead architecture discussions with understanding of process flows and system diagrams
• Lead disaster recovery activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning
• Embed data quality protocols throughout data acquisition, processing, storage and operational use
• Provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex issues
• Lead and conduct code reviews and architectures decisions with cross-functional teams
• Manage total product, financials and forecasting related to services
