Job summary

Illumio is hiring for a senior software engineer to build containerized microservices in a distributed multi-tenant system. You will design, implement, and defend architectures, mentor juniors, and deliver robust Go-based solutions across cloud environments.

You'll work with Kubernetes, data pipelines, and strive for high performance in a multi-cloud context. The role emphasizes ownership of features, lifecycle, and operational excellence in a security-focused product.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent required.
• 8+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is expected.
• K8s-based platform; containerized services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system.
• Design, defend and implement service architectures with peers.
• Mentor junior engineers, new grads and interns.
• Write code primarily in Go; work with data pipelines (SQL or similar).
• Own features and the full software development lifecycle.
• Own operations and write robust, supportable software.
• Ensure code quality with early testing and integration tests.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements.
• Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.
