Job summary

Illumio in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced software engineer to advance our Zero Trust segmentation platform. You will design and implement distributed, scalable systems in a cutting-edge stack, focusing on security, performance, and reliability.

This on-site role collaborates with product and field teams to deliver world-class solutions. Required: 8+ years in distributed software, Go/Python/Java, Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building distributed & scalable software systems.
• Proficient in Go, Python, or Java; strong cross-language capabilities.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, networking, and debugging.
• Unix/Linux programming environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and advance a new, unprecedented way to orchestrate Zero Trust Segmentation down to the application/pod level.
• Understand and enhance modern container platforms such as Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, GKE.
• Own and design critical features and subsystems; defend design before peers.
• Deliver rock-solid, scalable, secure, and maintainable implementations for enterprise infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers.
• Collaborate with field teams and customers to shape the product.
