Job summary

EchoStar seeks a Staff Engineer – Software Quality to design and implement automated QA for OTT and digital media apps across platforms, including cloud infra. You’ll build test automation using Playwright, develop AI-assisted workflows, and ensure robust go/no-go release decisions through thorough QA strategies and metrics.

You will lead CI/CD test integration with Jenkins/Maven, collaborate with engineering, and apply ML-driven prioritization to maximize coverage and defect detection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in a related field plus 6 years of QA/testing experience.
• 8+ years of professional QA/testing in large-scale consumer software (optional alternate 8 years w/o degree).
• 4+ years testing OTT/video applications with focus on functional correctness and UX.
• 4+ years UI and end-to-end test automation with Java and Python.
• 4+ years API testing using Postman/REST tools.
• 4+ years CI/CD integration of automated tests (Jenkins, Maven).
• 2+ years Docker-based test environments; 1 year AI-assisted QA tools; 1 year ML in QA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated QA frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Architect test automation solutions using Playwright and related frameworks.
• Develop AI-assisted QA workflows to improve efficiency and defect triage.
• Create and execute QA strategies, plans, and test cases for product quality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and generate test reports.
• Collaborate with engineering to identify defects and support root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate testing across teams, including manual and automated efforts.
