Job summary

Dutchie is hiring a Staff Engineer to work across teams, shaping the technical direction and driving reliability and performance of our platform. You’ll influence how we build today and tomorrow, partnering with product, UX, data, and platform teams.

You’ll lead design and implementation across .NET/C#, TypeScript, Ruby, and React, with PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MongoDB. You’ll mentor engineers and champion scalable, high-quality software in an AI-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building production systems at scale.
• Deep, hands-on experience in at least one modern backend stack.
• Experience designing scalable data models across relational and non-relational stores.
• Pride in craft—code that is clean, tested, and maintainable.

Responsibilities

• Make real improvements to enterprise-grade retail software at scale.
• Set technical direction and align teams behind architecture decisions.
• Scope, sharpen, and stress-test customer-facing features.
• Learn from customers and translate pain points into better products.
• Partner across the org on unified solutions for cross-team problems.
• Mentor other engineers and help others grow their skills.
• Plan, estimate, and de-risk big work by breaking it down and sequencing it.
• Set the bar for engineering judgment, code quality, and craft.
