Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Silicon Validation Software Engineer for its Autonomy Hardware and Sensing Systems team in the Bay Area. You will contribute to Rivian’s next generation hardware platform, including an in-house AI accelerator SoC, to enhance vehicle performance and autonomous driving capabilities.

You will design and execute validation plans, develop testing tools, and document results, collaborating across disciplines to ensure robust hardware validation and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 4–15 years of experience in related fields.
• Proficient in Embedded C software development.
• Good analytical and communication skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Refine and execute the SoC validation plan with the SoC validation team.
• Use C embedded software to validate SoC for next‑gen hardware design and peripheral interfaces.
• Develop automatic testing tools and generate test coverage reports.
• Build benchmark tools to evaluate performance (throughput, latency, resource usage, IO/compute frequency).
• Document validation progress and results in Rivian’s tracking system with traceability.
