Job summary

Rivian in Palo Alto is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver AI-enabled, enterprise-grade software that powers Rivian's supply chain, manufacturing, and operations. You will own cloud-native systems and work across teams to ensure scalable, secure, and performant solutions.

You will lead initiatives from concept to production, implement robust data pipelines, and contribute to observability and reliability across critical platforms at Rivian.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases at scale.
• Cloud and container tech: AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications for supply chain and manufacturing operations.
• Lead complex technical initiatives from initial concept through production.
• Build, test, and release mission-critical applications for internal and external users.
• Design workflows, automation, and AI-first decision-support systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, UX/UI, and QA to define features and roadmaps.
• Maintain high standards for architecture, testing, security, and performance through reviews.
