Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis is seeking a Staff Platform Control Software Engineer to advance embedded control software for powertrain systems. You will design, implement and validate control software, interfaces, RTOS configurations and non-volatile memory management in a fast-paced team.

You will mentor engineers, perform system verification in lab and vehicle environments, and drive CI-aligned testing while collaborating across Systems, Software and Validation teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years automotive embedded C/C++ experience.
• ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 familiarity.
• Automated test scripts in Python.
• Integration and diagnostics of control modules.
• VS/VS Code and GitHub experience.
• AutoSAR knowledge and automotive software discipline.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software behavior to find root causes and corrective actions.
• Reverse-engineer legacy code for commonization across powertrain solutions.
• Design, develop, test and document embedded control software for powertrain apps.
• Develop automated tests for CI in HIL/SIL environments.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software, Calibration and Validation teams.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers.
