Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape and scale the engineering platforms that deliver embedded software for software-defined vehicles. This hands-on technical leader will own architecture, roadmaps, and execution for a major capability across multiple teams, driving reliability, quality, and developer productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
Typically, 15+ years of experience developing, integrating, deploying, or validating software systems.

Responsibilities

Define target-state architecture and roadmaps for the assigned capability.
Lead architecture reviews and cross-functional alignment across teams.
Deliver production-quality software, automation, and platform components.
Instrument the platform using data to identify root causes and guide investments.
