Job summary

Wayve is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to join the Robot Software team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will build and maintain embedded Linux and QNX platform software, kernels, and device drivers for our autonomous vehicles.

You’ll craft high-performance C/C++ software, work with cross-functional teams, and help ensure robust diagnostics and remote debugging for fleet operations. Ideal candidates have hands-on embedded Linux kernel experience, Yocto, boot flows, and IPC middleware.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building embedded Linux system software (Kernels, device trees, boot flows).
• Proven ability to develop high-performance C/C++ software for embedded platforms.
• Experience with Yocto, QNX, and secure boot considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain embedded Linux and QNX platform software, kernels, and drivers.
• Collaborate with product, hardware, and engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Develop observable, debuggable C/C++ software for remotely operated vehicles.
• Diagnose performance issues across stacks, I/O, memory, and threading.
• Enhance fault tolerance, testing, documentation, and tooling.
• Mentor teammates and foster a strong engineering culture.
