Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Electronics – Mission Integration to lead an interdisciplinary team in developing electronic warfare subsystems for NGAS programs. Location can be San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL. Travel up to 10% may be required.

The role involves architecting HW/SW subsystems, managing requirements, interfaces, and verification, and delivering integrated avionics and mission systems with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of related experience or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Support, and multifunction subsystems.
• Experience with deriving and tracing requirements from system to component level.
• Experience with supplier documentation, performance-based specs, and statements of work.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teamwork and writing technical proposals.
• Knowledge of system engineering design methods including requirements analysis and interface control.

Responsibilities

• Technical management of program partners and suppliers.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and interact with management.
• Guide team through development and implementation activities.
• Develop requirements from customer needs into hardware/software specs.
• Perform risk analyses and mitigation planning.
• Collaborate to integrate avionics and mission subsystems.
• Develop supplier documentation and review artifacts.
• Document designs using detailed schematics and specs.
• Support HW/SW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs.
• Perform functional and performance analyses.
• Conduct trade studies and evaluate components and subsystems.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems.
