Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA seeks a Staff Electronics Engineer – Communications Field Liaison. You will be on-site, lead field communication initiatives, and coordinate with operations, engineering, and customer teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.

The role requires deep RF knowledge, experience with field repair procedures, and active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Periodic travel and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years’ related experience, or Master’s with 10+, or PhD with 9+.
• Experience with RF signal chains and system integration in communications.
• Experience with modulation/demodulation and coding in communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on work with LOS and BLOS communication systems, modems, up/down converters, and AESA antennas.
• Report subsystems status to leadership and identify risks to prevent cost/schedule impact.
• Manage field communication issues and coordinate with stakeholders from identification to closure.
• Serve as Field Liaison Communication Engineer between operations, engineering, and customer teams.
• Develop and maintain technical docs, configuration records, and test reports per program requirements.
• Update interface control, change requests, and mitigate risks with stakeholders.
• Provide training, briefings, and operational support to field personnel and customers.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to craft effective technical solutions.
• Participate in engineering Working Groups as needed.
