Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our Power Systems team. This senior role leads front-end engineering for power plant projects, oversees construction and commissioning, and ensures long-term uptime across USA sites.

You will bridge design and field execution, applying expertise in generator physics, HV/MV equipment, and protection coordination. Ideal candidates have a BSEE, 6+ years in industrial electrical engineering, and strong NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• Minimum 6+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience.
• Expert working knowledge of NEC applications to industrial installations.
• Proficiency with generator physics and power system operation.
• Experience with protection and control coordination studies and fault analysis.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 standard and related protocols (GOOSE & MMS).
• Familiarity with Governor and AVR controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end engineering for capital power projects, sizing and layouts of power systems.
• Review drawings, schematics, electrical studies, and control narratives to meet specs.
• Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning of power plant assets.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures with Field Operations and perform root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate integration of high/medium voltage equipment and MCCs.
• Support QA/QC by reviewing vendor drawings and ensuring design deliverables meet requirements.
• Apply deep expertise across power generation assets to ensure uptime.
