Astronics AES in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Staff Level Electrical Engineer to join our Airborne Power Control product team. You will design analog and digital circuits for power electronics used in aerospace applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet DO-254 compliance and harsh aircraft environments.

This on-site role offers partial remote flexibility depending on project needs. You will use circuit simulation tools to optimize designs, select components, and perform

Qualifications

• Experience in circuit design, simulation, PWB design support, and hardware verification.
• Design experience with power electronics circuits; knowledge of resonant converters is valued.
• Familiarity with aircraft development processes and DO-160/DO-254 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital circuits for advanced power electronics products.
• Utilize circuit simulation tools to optimize and guide design approaches.
• Research and select components based on performance, cost, and availability.
• Perform hardware functional testing to ensure product reliability and performance.
• Develop and document designs aligned with RTCA DO-254 compliance standards.
• Design robust products suitable for aircraft environments, accounting for temperature and EMI.
• Collaborate with technicians to support and execute hardware performance testing.
• Present technical concepts and results to internal teams and external stakeholders.
