Job description

Astronics AES is searching for a Staff Level Electrical Engineer to join our Airborne Power Control (APC) Product Team based in Kirkland, WA. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the design and development of cutting‑edge electrical systems, including fixed‑wing, helicopter and pioneering eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) applications.

This is primarily an on-site role; however, we offer flexibility for part‑time remote work depending on project requirements.

Position Overview

As a Staff Electrical Engineer, your primary mission is to support Astronics AES in achieving its vision of becoming a global leader in aircraft electrical power generation systems. Our products serve critical systems for small to midsize business jets, UAVs, and rotorcraft, and we are looking for driven individuals to help us take them to the next level.

  • Product Development Process:Experience in circuit design, simulation, PWB design support, and hardware verification.
  • Power Electronics: Design experience with power electronics circuits; experience with resonant converters is highly valued.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Proven ability to work effectively in team environments. Leadership experience is highly valued.
  • Meeting Deadlines: Ability to deliver exceptional results under tight timelines. Preferred: examples of successfully overcoming time constraints.
  • Technical Data Development: Skill in creating thorough, methodical, and accurate technical data packages.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Aerospace Standards: Experience with aircraft products and development processes, including DO-160 and DO-254 compliance.
