Job summary

Astronics AES in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Staff Level Electrical Engineer to join the Airborne Power Control (APC) Product Team. You’ll design analog and digital circuits for cutting‑edge power electronics used in fixed‑wing, rotorcraft and eVTOL programs.

You’ll collaborate with hardware teams, lead design verification, and ensure DO‑254 and DO‑160 compliance. The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, component selection, and on‑time delivery in a regulated aerospace setting.

Qualifications

Experience in circuit design, simulation, PWB design support and hardware verification.
Design experience with power electronics circuits; resonant converters valued.
Proven ability to lead in cross‑functional teams and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with aerospace standards and DO-254/DO-160 preferred.

Responsibilities

Design analog and digital circuits for advanced power electronics products.
Use circuit simulation tools to optimize design approaches.
Research and select components based on performance, cost and availability.
Perform hardware functional testing to ensure reliability and performance.
Develop designs aligned with RTCA DO-254 compliance.
Design products suitable for aircraft environments, accounting for temperature and EMI.
Collaborate with technicians to support hardware testing.
Present concepts and results to internal teams and external stakeholders.
