Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to provide technical leadership for ECU hardware requirements and CTRS across a broad vehicle portfolio. You will collaborate with hardware, software, electrical architecture, diagnostics, sourcing, and manufacturing to define common solutions and drive high-quality, reusable CTRS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics, CS or related engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years in product development, technical requirements, embedded controls, or related technical discipline.
• Leadership of complex technical programs or initiatives without direct authority.
• Experience with DOORS, DOORS Next-Gen, Jama, or Polarion for requirements management.
• Ability to manage complex CTRS across multiple use cases with reuse and traceability.
• Strong written and verbal communication to translate complex requirements into actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of ECU hardware requirements and CTRS.
• Establish technical direction for embedded-controller requirements across architectures and stakeholders.
• Drive standardization and reuse of components across ECU designs and CTRS portfolio.
• Lead requirements reviews, design-flow execution, and change-control activities.
• Provide technical leadership for CTRS compilation, build activities, and post-sourcing changes.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence across global teams.
