Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior SoC Hardware Engineer to lead evaluation and integration of advanced SoC solutions for automotive platforms. You will collaborate with silicon vendors and internal teams to drive architecture, bring-up, and early validation across ECU-related hardware.

You will mentor teams, manage multiple projects, and stay abreast of wireless and connectivity trends impacting SDV platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hardware design experience with system-level ownership.
• Knowledge of SoC subsystems, IP blocks, memory, analog, and peripherals.
• Experience in silicon bring up and ECU-level HW integration and validation.
• Experience with circuit design, analysis, and worst-case analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth evaluations and trade studies on SoCs and semiconductors for automotive use.
• Design and manage application schematics around SoCs for ECU development.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and suppliers to define architecture and requirements.
• Develop clear component specs to enable sourcing decisions and milestones.
• Create and execute test plans, board bring-up, and early validation.
• Stay current with industry trends in semiconductor portfolios and roadmaps.
• Provide technical mentorship to semiconductor engineering teams throughout the design cycle.
