Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff level DevOps Engineer to join the Privileged Access Management (PAM) team. You will work on cloud-based infrastructure using Kubernetes/EKS, AWS services, and modern tooling to deliver secure, enterprise-grade PAM solutions.

You will influence architecture, performance, and security while mentoring peers. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration with architects, QA, product owners, security and operations, and participation in a fast, weekly release cycle.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of extensive programming experience in modern programming languages like Go, Java, or C++ especially in backend services. Go is preferred.
• 4+ years experience working with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational database systems.
• Deep understanding of REST APIs and proven experience building and integrating them.
• Experience with AWS, Redis, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, Kinesis, Kafka, and Docker.
• Knowledge of IaC, Observability, Secrets Management, CI / CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and compliance.
• Familiarity with Agile software development process.

Responsibilities

• Leverage cutting-edge AI pair-programmers and LLMs to accelerate development of Privileged Access Management products.
• Act as a core contributor to Okta's FedRAMP initiative.
• Design, develop and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects on a modern tech stack (Kubernetes/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Redis, OpenSearch, Docker, Terraform on AWS).
• Drive evaluation, development, and rollout of microservices.
• Operate, support, and upgrade shared services and frameworks as usage grows.
